What does it mean to be Full Stack & Unicorn in design/development?
Basically, a rare kind who designs and codes
Generally, designers who work in the world of digital design or UX/UI are more familiar with the term Full Stack Developer. But what does it mean to be “Full Stack”? And what does it mean to be a “Unicorn”?

The benefits of an expansive set
Full-Stack Designer & Full-Stack Developer
Full-Stack Designer
The significant benefit that we can bring as a Full-Stack Designer is understanding thinking and empathy. A designer who is familiar with product development and the design process knows the limits of product design. Therefore, you are more aware of what may or may not work in the design process. You have more realistic expectations even before you start designing, moving pixels, or writing code.

A Full-Stack designer who views the design process through an innovative lens uses a user-centered design (UCD) process. Work in an agile, and brings ideas to the screen quickly. It brings positive values to an interdisciplinary team, in addition to becoming a kind of intermediary between designers and developers.
Full-Stack Developer
A Full-Stack developer is a programmer with a high complete technical profile. He is in charge of handling each of the aspects related to the creation and maintenance of a web application. He knows well both the backend and the frontend, handles systems and how to understand, in addition to handling different operating systems and programming languages. It is an increasingly demanded and well-paid profile.

In other words, the Full Stack developer is an off-road pro, a fundamental piece in the development departments of any company. He knows how the web application is designed based on the principles of frontend UX / UI design.
But… what does it mean to be Unicorn?
The key to being a unique profile
Now, what if you are a Full Stack designer who immerses himself in the Full Stack developer? Or vice versa?
That is what would happen.

The Unicorn profile is capable of establishing strategies for each part of the web development process, in addition to being able to take the concept to its implementation, going through each of the phases of design thinking.
Even so, being a Unicorn is one of the most unique and demanding profiles that exist today. It requires a lot of skills, dedication, and perseverance.
Learning new things can generate some “fear” in us. As Unicorns, we have to understand failure as a learning opportunity. In the design and technology sector, trends are changes, and technology advances very fast. Where users continuously change their way of relating to our products. These require very high development and design speed as the problems become more and more complex.
